Sunset Cruise Along the Potomac

Several weeks ago I booked a Potomac River sunset cruise.  You never know what the weather will be like when you make reservations for outdoor activities - thankfully it wasn't raining this evening.  It was a bit on the chilly side, but no rain.
The boat ride started in Georgetown and headed north for a little bit.  There was a steady north wind, so the first couple minutes of the cruise was really chilly.  Once we turned around and the wind was at our backs, it wasn't near as cold.
Hot tea and hot apple cider were served, and we all took advantage of the toasty drinks.
I chose a sunset cruise so I could see the Washington, D.C. monuments in (literally) a different light.  Here's a unique look at the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
I was thankful for this evening's cloudy sunset - as the sun shone through the clouds, the Washington Monument looked pink.  How many times have you seen this monument pink?  So cool!
The dome of the Jefferson Memorial really glowed at dusk.  Julia also totally had her bearings straight at this point on the cruise - she said, "We must be close to the cherry blossoms now!"  Yup, she was right on!
If you blinked, you might have missed seeing the Capitol building.  It peeked through the trees for just a quick moment, and I was able to snap a picture of it.
Even though the boat ride was about 45 minutes long, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and saw several DC landmarks.  This is definitely something we would recommend to visitors and residents alike.
