Waist-High Snow
We got another light dusting of snow last night (about two inches). I wanted to get a couple of pictures of the girls standing in the trench that is known as our sidewalk, just to show how high all of this snow is. We're beginning to wonder if it will ever stop snowing?

Cookies and Puzzle Pieces
The girls picked up their Girl Scout cookie order over the weekend, and here they are, with all 180 boxes they sold. Whew!
School is out this week (February vacation), and it seemed like the perfect time to start working on 550-piece puzzle that's been hiding in the basement. I wonder if we will finish the puzzle by the end of the week?Posted by V at 10:46 PM 0 comments

Snow!
You'll never guess what happened last night? It snowed six inches! Shocking, isn't it? (Not really...)

. . . and a No-School Tuesday . . .
Apparently there was so much snow from last weekend's snow, that the roads weren't cleared for school today, either. Honestly, the timing couldn't be better for the girls to be home - I need all the help I can get with my knee surgery recovery. This morning my little Sunshine brought me breakfast in bed.
The girls got some snow play time this afternoon, digging a little cave at the end of the driveway. This picture gives you a good idea of how high the snow comes up to the girls' waists (or shoulders, in Julia's case).

Another No-School Monday
With all the snow we got yesterday, the roads were too bad to have school today. The girls played as much as they could outside . . .
. . . with Julia staying close to the driveway and sidewalks so she had easy access to walkable areas.Posted by V at 9:30 PM 0 comments

MORE Snow . . .
It snowed again today, about 10 inches. Somewhere in the backyard is a creek and a bridge, but it's hard to find them now.
The snow in the front yard is getting deep - here's a picture of Evelyn standing in the middle of the yard. I don't think Julia could get out there if she wanted to - it would be too deep for her to walk in!Posted by V at 9:24 PM 0 comments

Father-Daughter Sock Hop
This evening Troy and the girls went to a Sock Hop put on by their local Girl Scout troops. Everyone left the house dressed for the occasion.
Troy took the camera to the dance and captured a few pictures of the 50's festivities . . .Posted by V at 9:19 PM 0 comments

Tuning Time
Our old piano got a much-needed tuning today. It's always fun to see what the inside of the big guy looks like . . .

Little Actress
There is no question that Julia is a drama queen. That's why I enrolled her in Children's Musical Theater this year - to give her a chance to let her antics shine. She's a bit of a squirrel in class, so I'm not sure if it's a good fit for her...but we'll let her finish out the class this school year.

Tummy Tea
With all of the oxycodone I have been taking to manage the pain from last week's knee surgery (16 a day!), my stomach has been very upset. Kat was a total life-saver - she came to my rescue with this tea. I drank about four or five cups of the tea yesterday and today, which helped my medicine-induced nausea completely go away.

Monday = Snow Day
Guess what? It snowed last night. A lot. Enough snow that school was cancelled today.
Since I am only three days post-op, the front door was as close to the snowy action as I got. I was still able to grab a couple of pictures of my snowy girls outside.Inside? Kat helped Julia and Evelyn decorate cake pops - they looks pretty tasty!
