We had quite the severe weather this afternoon and evening. In a seven hour time span, we had three separate tornado warnings issued. This evening's news reported three tornadoes within about 20 miles of Germantown - that's pretty close!
The two most exciting warnings were between 2:15 and 3:15 this afternoon, which was school dismissal time. From what Evelyn told me, the students were in the duck-and-cover position for about 50 minutes. Lucky for her class, they were already in the computer lab when the first tornado warning was issued, which is an interior room (without windows), so they just hunkered down in there. School dismissed about 30 minutes later than normal, everyone went home, and then we watched the rest of the storms roll by.
At about 6:00 this evening, during a break in the weather, Evelyn spotted this complete double rainbow. I'm glad I took the picture when I did because two minutes later it was gone...more storms were on their way!
