While driving to Denver this morning, we made a pit-stop at the Sod House Museum in Gothenburg, Nebraska.
The sod house at this museum is a replica, but it still gave the girls a good idea of how families lived in Nebraska over a century ago.
The inside of the house had (replicated) pioneer furniture. One side of the house was the living room and dining room...
...and the other side was the bedroom...with a cowchip-burning stove in the middle of the house. We spent about 20 minutes at the museum, wandering around and talking about how hard pioneers had to work just to survive. We were all thankful to be living with our current technology!
